The ATM Industry Association (ATMIA) is the leading association representing the global ATM industry. ATMIA boasts more than 11,000 members from 70 countries.
In March, ATMIA announced that it had launched Cash Hub, a new portal that will house “global information about pro-cash initiatives and trends, as well as stories from members about cash during and beyond the pandemic, as a resource for the industry.”
Cash Hub
Cash Hub will provide information about where there are challenges to access to cash, cash trends, statistics, news and more. The new portal is designed to help ATM owners and distributors stay up to date on industry news and trends.
David Tente, ATMIA Executive Director for the US, Canada, and Latin America stated, “Across the globe cash remains the most widely used and popular form of payment. It is our on-going mission at ATMIA to combat the negative press and help ensure consumers continue to have access to cash as a payment choice.”
Touting the Benefits of Cash
Along with better budgeting, privacy and security, cash is vital to economies at risk of further marginalization of people who are unbanked or underbanked. Claire Feterl, ATMIA Membership & Marketing Associate, states that “Cash Hub is a venue for members to share their stories and a resource for others to see the benefits of cash; how it affects communities across the world and our industry plays a key role in providing cash access to so many. We are excited to be able to present this important resource for the industry and celebrate cash at our upcoming trade show.”
User-submitted videos, stories, blogs, and more will be compiled into a slideshow and displayed at the ATMIA US Conference, June 23-25, in Las Vegas.
